Water Scarcity

These positive trends have contributed to improvements in access to clean water and sanitation, with some studies reporting that the percentage of the global population without access to improved water sources decreased from 29% in 1990 to 12% in 2015. These positive developments indicate that progress is being made in creating a more sustainable and equitable water future, and that there is hope for a future where all people have access to this essential resource.
