BIG BROTHERS BIG SISTERS OF THE TEXAS PANHANDLE

Big Brothers Big Sisters unites children with committed volunteers in one-to-one mentoring relationships that transforms the lives of children, families and communities. Big Brothers Big Sisters places a caring adult in the life of every child who needs or wants them. Big Brothers Big Sisters volunteer mentors provide a positive role model and enable area youth to learn needed life skills and behaviors. Big Brothers Big Sisters recruits, screens, trains and matches qualified volunteers with area youth in one-to-one mentoring relationships. Community-based matches spend 6-8 hours a month together and Site Based matches spend one hour per week during the school year. They engage in a variety of activities with the emphasis on developing positive life skills, building self esteem, non-violent problem solving, developing character and overall improving the quality of life for youth.
