Our Mission

Believing that the best hope of peace and happiness for mankind lies in education, and knowing that refugees and displaced persons are frequently in a situation in which education is difficult, the Brackett Refugee Education Fund is dedicated to assisting refugees or displaced persons of any race, nationality or creed, to acquire an education.

Who We Are

Tom, Liz and John are now Professors Emeriti at Colgate University. BREF is currently governed by a Board of Trustees which includes: Sally E. Brackett, Chair; Russell E. Brackett, Exec. Director; Penelope Brackett, Secretary; Paulo Flor, Treasurer; Elizabeth Brackett; Dianne Becker; Melinda Jackson; John Littleton; and Mark Sommer.
