Bridging The Gap-Oregon

Bridging The Gap is a long time vision of a law enforcement officer who used to spend countless hours tracking down resources for sexually exploited victims. There were many organizations who had resources and services, but there was no way to effectively and efficiently communicate with them in real time during crisis situations, such as in the evening hours or weekends, when victims are often rescued. The BTGHT mobile app fills this gap by communicating victim needs, in real time, to organizations that have the resources to help. Our vision is to bring the mobile app to every region in the U.S. and duplicate the app to help other vulnerable populations get the resources they need. We also have an survivor resource fund to help trafficking victims in crisis situations anywhere in the U.S. We provide gift cards for food, clothing or transporation and hotel stays. Bridging The Gap believes awareness and training is key to helping communities learn about sex trafficking and how to respond with a trauma informed approach. In partnership with the Mentor Support Collaborative, we have filmed several trauma informed trainings, featuring professionals who work in the field along with survivor leaders. This training is available FREE on Google Classroom.
