Butterfly Dreams Farm Therapeutic Riding Program, Inc. (BDF) was founded in 2005 and is situated on 9-acres of beautiful farmland in Watkinsville, Georgia, just 10 minutes outside of Athens. Butterfly Dreams Farm is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization where therapists and instructors utilize horses as powerful therapy partners, leveraging their gaits and natural empathic abilities to help riders achieve a variety of treatment outcomes. BDF offers two types of equine assisted therapy, wherein the horse plays an integral role in targeting the physical, emotional, social, behavioral, and/or cognitive goals tailored to each individual rider. Our vision is for BDF to be a place of healing and joy for every child and adult that we serve. The focus of our fundraising efforts have always been to provide scholarships for our families, as currently 70% of the 75 children and adults that ride at BDF require scholarships to receive much-needed therapy.
