Our Mission

Building Character, through Adventure, inspired by Tradition.

Who We Are

Camp Chippewa is a summer camp for boys located in the Chippewa National Forest on Cass Lake near Bemidji, Minnesota. By focusing on life-long sports and activities, we have carefully developed a program that promotes emotional and physical growth, develops confidence and encourages friendships with fellow campers and counselors from around the globe. The camp's location in a wilderness area surrounded by two lakes provides boys a respite from the technology and fast pace of life that exist in today's culture. The in-camp program boasts activities such as archery, riflery, climbing, sailing, swimming, soccer, tennis, fencing, kayaking, and canoeing. Camp Chippewa is renowned for its out-of-camp tripping program. As campers get older, they embark on progressively longer wilderness canoe trips in Northern Minnesota and Canada, which serve as the perfect opportunity for building resilience, teamwork, confidence and leadership, while enjoying the beauty of a wilderness setting. Since 1935, our mission has been to develop Character, through Adventure, inspired by Tradition. We will continue to provide a place where young people can experience the outdoors, build lifelong skills, and grow into more resilient leaders.
