City on a Hill exists to revolutionize the quality of life for people in Milwaukee while serving as a beacon of faith, hope, and love to the world. Our vision is a world free from poverty in all of its forms where all children and families can thrive, regardless of background.

Who We Are

Since City on a Hill was established in 2001, we’ve been pursuing one ambitious goal: to end the cycle of generational poverty and oppression in the lives of urban youth and their families. While issues of poverty and oppression in Milwaukee’s central city are huge and complex, our collaborative, Christ-centered model of service is unleashing the transformational potential of people living in some of the toughest neighborhoods in the country. Our holistic approach engages and empowers people with the spiritual, social, educational, and economic resources they need to realize their full potential and make transformational change possible, restoring hope, reducing poverty, strengthening families, and fostering racial reconciliation.
