Our mission is to provide supportive mentoring services through a trauma-informed and lived experience lens, aimed at building resilience in our youth, families, and communities. With a deep commitment to restorative and transformative justice principles, we foster safer environments by promoting alternatives to gang life and encouraging success through family, school, work, and community involvement.
We recognize the widespread impact of trauma and the potential for recovery. Many youth involved in the juvenile justice system have experienced significant childhood adversity, and our goal is to break the cycle of re-traumatization. By embracing trauma-informed and resilience-building practices, we ensure that our programs and services are sensitive to the needs of our youth, families, and communities. Our approach emphasizes recognizing the signs and symptoms of trauma, integrating trauma knowledge into our policies and practices, and actively resisting re-traumatization.
We are guided by the principles of restorative and transformative justice, seeking to respond to violence, harm, and abuse in a way that promotes accountability, healing, resilience, and safety for all. Through our Transformative Justice (TJ) framework, we strive to transform the conditions that enable harm while also facilitating repair for those affected. Additionally, our implementation of restorative justice (RJ) focuses on repairing harm and addressing conflicts within the community as a whole, involving the victim, offender, social networks, justice agencies, and the community itself.
In partnership with numerous community agencies, our programs provide individual mentoring, case management, comprehensive life planning, family and group meetings, community violence interruption services, on-campus intervention, and community service projects.
