Who We Are
We are not-for-profit, nongovernmental Organization Registration No: 80034317810527 involved in Empowering Vulnerable and Poor communities on Livelihoods Improvement and Environmental wellbeing.
Founded in 2020, Development Alert (DA) exists to identify, develop and promote talent, projects, programs and activities on and related to the fight against the causes and consequence of poverty, ill health, biodiversity loss and marginalization for livelihoods improvements and Environmental conservation.
OVERALL OBJECTIVE:
The overall objective is to promote the Social, Economic, Health, and Environmental wellbeing for Livelihoods improvement and Nature conservation among the poor, Persons with Disabilities, Children, and the Youth in Tororo District and Uganda as a whole.
AREAS OF FOCUS:
1) Education (School supplies, scholastic materials, sponsorships, school infrastructure)
2) Promoting access to clean and safe water.
3) Economic Empowerment.
4) Promoting Environmental conservation initiatives
OUR ACHIEVEMENT
Since 2020, we have supported 2000 people
- Provided 634 disadvantaged girls and boys with scholastic materials,
- Drilled a community Borehole providing access to clean to over 1000 people
- Supported the feeding of 400 school going children,
- Provided Interest-Free Microloan Project to 50 rural entrepreneurs based on PAY-IT-FORWARD model,
-Supplied 9 brand new sewing machines and startup fabrics to Nine young tailors to start tailoring business,
- Supported 15 elderly in the community
- Planted over 7000 trees to conserve the environment
- Provided 15 needy students with sponsorships
