Our Mission

ECI supports children in Afghanistan with disabilities with residential, educational and income generation support for families. Through our programs, we support children with disabilities who are the most vulnerable—abandoned by families living in extreme poverty who have no resources to cope, or unclaimed by family after the death of one or both parents. We also work with families with disabled children, providing educational and income generation support, in order to prevent the abandonment or institutionalization of children with disabilities.

Who We Are

ABOUT US The Enabled Children Initiative (ECI) is an independent charity organization registered in the United States as a 501(c)(3), as a charity in the United Kingdom, and as a charity branch of ECI USA in Afghanistan (number 465). The organization was officially registered in 2014 in the UK, in 2017 in the US, and in 2019 in Afghanistan. WHAT WE DO We fund a private care home, with a small in-home school, called Window of Hope. We run a school for children with disabilities, the Enabled Children School. We support families living in poverty to support their disabled child within the home and raise awareness in local communities, via our Community Based Disability Awareness
