Our Mission
Our Mission is to create the future leaders of Haiti through the provision of education, healthcare, advocacy and care for abandoned children with quantifiable accountability measures.
Who We Are
HaitiChildren works primarily in the areas around Port-au- Prince and the Arcahaie areas in the west. Since the earthquake, the focus of our operations has been our HaitiChildren Village. The village located in Arcahaie is a 60,000 square foot permanent infrastructure. It is comprised of three residential care buildings, two school buildings, and a community center church, a children’s rehabilitation center, two clinics, soccer field, farm, three greenhouses, employee residence, recreation hall and two water therapy pools. The entire village is completely contained within security walls. Two water wells with capacity to filter 10,000 gallons of water daily service the community. HaitiChildren also operates two other schools, one in Port-au- Prince and other in Williamson.
Today, HaitiChildren employs 224 nationals in jobs such as, teachers, doctors, nurses, therapists, house mother’s (continuous childcare), building engineers, accountants, cooks, and cleaning staff. The impact on the lives of the children in our program and the Haitians we employ is substantial and deep-in- many cases the difference between life and death, and in others, the difference between a life of poverty and a life of promise.
