Our Mission

To relieve poverty in Bolivia by providing programs that deliver education, counselling and nutrition to underprivileged children as well as skills training to underprivileged women and youth.

Who We Are

The Help Bolivia Foundation was founded by Matt and Lydia Hill following a trip to Bolivia in March 2018. The foundation was incorporated in Alberta, Canada on May 22, 2018, and is governed by a volunteer Board of Directors. Help Bolivia also works with a team in Bolivia. Over 25 (and growing!) volunteers around the world assist us with fundraising, awareness, and events. On June 4th, 2019 Help Bolivia Foundation became a registered Canadian charity. Help Bolivia is currently supporting 64 indigenous Aymara children (ages 3 to 18) in El Alto, Bolivia by providing them with nutrition, education support, and psychological counselling. Most of the families we help have migrated from the countryside, seeking a better life for their children. Most families are single parent. Many have experienced abuse. In 2021 we will cut the ribbon on the first of our skills training programs for women and youth. As we grow our donor base, we will expand the support to more families. In 2021 we added 6 children (4 families) to our programs. COVID has hit Bolivia especially hard, and they need our continued support. It is our plan to be in a second community centre by 2024.
