Our Mission

It is the understanding of the Los Angeles County Law Enforcement Trust that peace officers face an elevated level of risk of death due to the very nature of their profession. We aim to assist the victims of this risk by providing assistance with grief counseling, financial and legal support, and coordination of benefits.

Who We Are

We are an IRS-certified 501(c)(3) public benefit charity staffed entirely by volunteers. We were founded in September 2016 in Los Angeles with the goal of assisting the families of L.A. County peace officers killed or gravely injured in the line of duty. We have working relationships with grief counselors who can provide a comprehensive support system. We can assist families in securing the various federal, state and union benefits to which they are entitled. We can also provide pro bono legal consultation, accounting and financial management assistance. We stand ready to assist in any manner which will benefit the survivors of a Line Of Duty Death. We are independent of any law enforcement organization. Our IRS exemption number 814090527. We are a GuideStar Silver-certified non-profit organization. We believe in the power of motivated, enthusiastic volunteers. We have no paid employees. We strive to be financially responsible, transparent and accountable. We operate with complete disregard for race, color, creed, national origin, sexual preference, physical limitation or social standing.
