Our Mission

A Christian Community. Magnificat Houses lifts people up from the place of homelessness and destitution to the place of poverty, giving them a chance to reenter and sometimes to enter society for the first time.

Who We Are

Magnificat House has operated historically in a frugal manner, without the benefit of City, State or Federal subsidies although recently we entered into an alliance with the Mental Health and Mental Retardation Authority of Harris County for Clubhouse development. Primarily, we manage financially by assessing fees from those who become employed, by applying for financial assistance from agencies for those who qualify and by maintenance fees from those permanently disabled residents on disability. Maintenance fee amounts depend on their needs and the responsibilities they assume in the houses.
