Our mission is to assist individuals and families in finding hope and healing when facing the pain of domestic violence, trauma and related issues.

Who We Are

Northwest Family Life is a 28-year-old faith-based nonprofit in Seattle whose mission is “to assist individuals and families in providing hope and healing in facing domestic violence, trauma, and related issues”. We do this through advocacy and support, education and training, batterers intervention, counseling, and a safe house for women and their children who are fleeing domestic violence and/or trafficking (Penny's Place). Penny’s Place is an intentionally small, therapeutic, supportive community. Most of these women and families come in with little or no support and finding resources when in crisis can be utterly overwhelming. Our team helps guests at Penny's Place with the process of finding physical and emotional safety, job training, educational opportunities, and permanent housing.
