Our Mission

One Montana (1MT) is a nonprofit working to promote a vibrant Montana by connecting rural and urban communities. 1MT develops creative programs that support three core areas: private land stewardship, maintaining agriculture and working lands, and preserving our cultural heritage. Who We Are

In 2019, 1MT consolidated our work into two primary areas connecting rural and urban Montana: Resilient Communities and Common Ground. These programs work to preserve core values in communities adapting to change, and build relationships between sportsmen and landowners. And we initiated a rich communications approach—The Montana Way—to support these programs. 1MT’s Strategy of Resilience focuses us to have greater impact. It is a vision for the future of our communities, wildlife, habitat, and culture of Montana, and allows 1MT to concentrate on specific issues where our expertise is already present.
