Our Mission

To Empower Consumers and Policy-Makers with the Knowledge and Tools to Withstand Natural and Climate Hazards with Long-Lasting and Resilient Homes and Communities

Who We Are

Resilience Action Fund is a US 501(c) 3 nonprofit, founded by construction industry veteran, resilience expert and 9-11 WTC survivor Aris Papadopoulos. He was one of the first business people to help the UN Office for Disaster Risk Reduction a decade ago create a private sector initiative, now known as ARISE. He contributed to the drafting of the UN Sendai Framework, an agreement signed by 187 countries in 2015. RAF's activities Include: - Publishing the book 'Resilience- The Ultimate Sustainability' (English, Spanish, audiobook) - Support in making the PBS documentaries 'Built to Last?' and 'Last Home Standing' - Launching the Resilient-Smart Quiz for consumers - Launching the public education cartoon 'Ask Uncle Resy' - Developing the first-of-its-kind Resilient Homebuyers Guide - Partnering with World Bank/IFC to create a Resilient Building Index to be first launched in the Philippines - Collaborating with the Climate Bonds Initiative to develop standards for Resilience Bond - Outreach through TV, radio and social media on public resilience awareness - University lectures and programs (Florida International University, London School of Economics, Wharton)
