Richmond-Ermet Foundation (REAF)

REAF was founded in 1994 by two mothers, the late Barbara Richmond and Peggy Ermet, who each lost their only sons to AIDS as a way to both honor their sons' memories and to help provide support for the kind of agencies who took care of their sons before they died. Today REAF is still dedicated to providing support for local HIV services but has expanded our mission to include support for hunger programs and programs that serve and support homeless and underserved youth. REAF primarily serves the San Francisco Bay Area. REAF has distributed well over $4 million through the production of quality entertainment events including our annual summer "Help is on the Way" and "Help is on the Way for the Holidays" concerts, our "One Night Only" benefit cabaret series with touring Broadway shows, our "Broadway Bares/San Francisco Strips" burlesque-style dances shows and other shows and receptions produced as schedules allow. During Covid-19, our live shows have been transitioned to virtual shows broadcast over "YouTube Live." Donations can be designated to support one specific cause or agency or designated to where the need is greatest.
