Who We Are
Romania Animal Rescue Inc was begun in 2003 to help the animals of Romania. In 2008 we began focusing primarily on spay/neuter to stop the endless flow of animals born to suffer. We began doing our spayathons in 2009, and since that time have spayed and neutered over 100,000 animals. RAR has helped in over 50 cities, towns and villages in Romania, and our work continues to expand. Our headquarters near Bucharest is the Center of Hope. A modern clinic to serve both owned and stray dogs and cats. We also have a hub in Craiova
We run the Homeless Animals Hospital program allowing free or subsidized veterinary care for animals that would otherwise receive no help.
Our charity sponsors the intensive training program for Romanian vets at the Veterinary Training Camp, at Center of Hope.
This training teaches vets a high skill level so that they can return to their communities and do keyhole spay incisions and help reduce the population of abandoned animals.
RAR has distributed 18,500 educational book at schools, events, an orphanage, and community gatherings in Romania.
RAR also sponsors monthly food and veterinary care for Marius shelter of 200 dogs and cats.
