Benjamin Rose and Levi Gaye founded Rose’s Organization for Advocacy and Development (ROAD) to support underprivileged Liberian children through three specific initiatives. These initiatives for Liberian children are: 1) advocacy to eliminate human trafficking, 2) services to assist disabled children, and 3) providing educational opportunities to children. The foundation for this organization was first laid out when Benjamin Rose was involved in a Liberian community-based organization called Movement for Community Development. At that time, he discovered his passion for improving communities in Liberia and the individual lives that make them up. He became a fierce advocate for sponsoring Liberian children, often spending his last financial resources in order to help others and this continues on to this day. The final straw that led to the formation of the NGO ROAD was the devastating results of 14 years of civil unrest in Liberia. On July 29, 2014, ROAD was formed, and it has been committed to raising awareness and generating funds to change the lives of underprivileged and underserved Liberian children.
