Our Mission
To contribute to a prosperous Karamoja through supporting the education, empowerment, and creative expression of youth in Kotido District.
Who We Are
Shalom Reconciliation Ministry (SRM) began in 2005, providing essential shelter and food for youth in the town of Kotido in the Karamoja region of north-eastern Uganda as they sought to reconcile them back to their support network. Over the years, these services have grown to include school sponsorship, one on one and family counseling, leadership development, discipleship, and sports camps. SRM is working with roughly 380 youth within the town of Kotido to help give them a hope and a future.
SRM is supported by its sister organization, Shalom Ministries International (SMI), which organizes much of the fundraising and material support for the programs in SRM. SMI began this partnership with SRM in 2009 and continues to act as a support both financially, administratively, and interpersonally. SMI is a fully volunteer and registered 501(c)-3 organization that has the sole aim of furthering the work that SRM is doing in Kotido to serve the youth and find sustainable alternatives for those that are lacking a traditional support network
