The Estes Park Learning Place

Realizing that some students in our rural community were falling behind academically, the Estes Park Learning Place was founded in 1998 as a private fee-for-service organization to provide tutoring services to K-12 students. On February 27, 2002, the Estes Park Learning Place became a charitable 501(c)3 nonprofit serving the greater Estes Valley, which includes Estes Park and the small towns of Drake, Pine Valley, Allenspark and Glen Haven. Since our inception, our services have broadened and our numbers have steadily grown. We remain the only organization in our area to provide critical help to students and adults who want to succeed academically and become productive, self-sufficient community members. A few of our students with learning difficulties come to us for help with life skills. Our professional tutors pride themselves on respecting and supporting students’ unique learning styles and empowering them with the tools they need to succeed. Today we tutor, not only K-12 students in all subjects, but also college-bound students who are preparing to take SAT or ACT tests and those who want to improve their economic opportunities by getting GED certification. In August 2017, we became a certified GED testing center. Because those students no longer have to travel 40-50 miles to Fort Collins, Longmont, or Boulder to take the four required GED tests, the number of our candidates has increased rapidly. The Estes Park Learning Place is the only organization in our rural area to offer such services for adults.
