TRI COUNTIES HUMANE SOCIETY

25 years ago a group of animal folks came together from various walks of life. While all different, we have the same goal and dream in mind. We wanted to change the mind set of the community with a stronger awareness of the plight of the many animals in the area. This area had many who believed it was okay to use a cat as target practice, a dog for the fight training in the pits, a bunny for a toy for their dog. Spay and neutering was virtually unheard of and it didn't matter since you can dump the babies in the river, along the roadside, or in the field somewhere. It was a difficult start, but as the years have progressed, many more people began to understand why were here and what we wanted to do. We take in many rescued animals from dog to cat to goat to horses. Spay and neuter has rose to a new high and people have begun to care for pets and report those who abuse.
