TRUONG BUU DIEP FOUNDATION

Father Truong Buu Diep was born on January 1, 1897 in An Giang, Vietnam. Ordained in 1924, he was assigned as Parochial Vicar of several parishes. In 1945, Vietnam was torn by war, He was advised to leave the area for a safer place but he stated: “I live among my parishioners and I will die among them. I won’t go anywhere”. Mar 12, 1946, Rev. Truong Buu Diep was captured and sacrificed his life to save over 70 parishioners of Tac Say parish. His body was buried in the sacristy of Tac Say church, Bac Lieu province, South of Vietnam. Truong Buu Diep Foundation®, abbreviated as TBDF, is a faith base non-profit organization established on August 16, 2011 by John Nguyen and Holly Pham, residents in Fountain Valley, California. To express their gratitude toward Father Truong Buu Diep who had saved their lives twice, John and Holly hope to return the grace by reaching out to the community and bringing Father Truong Buu Diep's name closer to everyone. The mission of TBDF is to honor Father Truong Buu Diep. For this present stage, the glorification of Father Diep is manifested through the two main tasks: First, collect and spread the blessings of Father Diep through all forms of media. Second, promote and implement community services programs in the name of Father Diep.
