Our Mission

WILC MISSION STATEMENT- WILC is a private nonprofit college serving adults with autism who desire continued learning; assisting them in reaching their goals for independence. We believe that people with Autism Spectrum Disorders are intelligent and valuable members of society. It is our mission to provide each student with the necessary supports so that he/she may not only have a successful college experience but also become inspired to achieve their purpose in life.

Who We Are

Located in Waukesha, Wi, WILC is a nonprofits that is autism specific for aged 18-30 young adults over southeastern Wisconsin, USA. Opportunities for post secondary school vocational experiences and paid work are extremely limited for individuals with autism along with the burden of delayed social skills, communication and sensory need. Employment provides an important link to financial independence, health insurance, and benefits, and social relationships. Nearly 99% of young adults in the U.S. will work at some point between ages 21 to 25 years. However young adults with autism, compared to their peers with other types of disabilities, had the lowest rate of employment. 58% of those on the autism spectrum have worked during their early 20s. WILC's vocational program has a high success rate for job coaching, training, placement and hiring for students aged 18 to 30. This requires intensive staff to student instructor ratio, specialized programs and multiple therapies. We focus on daily living, communication, sensory needs, social skills, lifetime recreation, volunteerism, prevocational and vocational skills
