Zenon Dance Company and School Inc

Founded in 1983, Zenon Dance School has been the heart of the Twin Cities dance community for nearly 40 years. Zenon Dance School is housed in two beautiful studios on the 4th floor of the Cowles Center for Dance in downtown Minneapolis. Zenon offers four sessions of dance classes per year with 40-50 adult and youth classes offered per session, to an annual average of 8,500 recreational, pre-professional, and professional dancers. Zenon teaches a broad variety of styles including traditional techniques such as ballet, modern, and jazz as well as hip hop, afro-modern, and belly dance. The school’s faculty consists of 40-50 of the area’s leading teachers, dancers, accompanists and choreographers. Zenon’s Dance Zone program is unique in the Twin Cities, offering collaboration opportunities for local dancers and choreographers. Zone choreographers return year-after-year to create new work on talented pre-professional dancers, who join the program through an audition process and are required to take 4-5 classes per week. The Zone showcase performances, held at our studios in downtown Minneapolis, are well attended by dance community patrons and local artistic directors seeking promising new performers and creators.
