TransCultural Exchange
Inclusion. Diversity. These are more than just words for us. They are who we are: TransCultural Exchange. As an important part of our DNA, we aim to be supportive and welcoming of all people everywhere. Incorporated in 2002 as a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, TransCultural Exchange’s mission is to foster a greater understanding of world cultures. We do this through large-scale, global art projects, cultural exchanges and educational programming – most notably, an International Conference on Opportunities in the Arts. Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA)/Prince Georges County
CASA stands for: Court Appointed Special Advocate. CASA volunteers, are regular citizens like you, appointed by the courts, who have been trained to be child advocates for neglected and abused children in the foster care court system trained to assure that the rights and needs of these children are at the forefront of decisions that are being made by judges and lawyers and family members. For many neglected and abused children their CASA volunteer is the only reliable adult presence in their lives. And that single volunteer can often be enough to break the cycle of violence and neglect – not just for one child, but for generations to come.
