Food for Others, Inc.
For people who have lost a job, suffered a mental or physical health setback, or are struggling to overcome other obstacles to independence, Food for Others provides free food in these ways: 1) Warehouse Emergency food to individuals and families: We provide 3-5 days' worth of non-perishables, as well as milk and eggs and other fresh food for those referred to us by social-service providers. Those clients who also qualify based on low income may also receive monthly food supplements that we order on their behalf from the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA. 2) Neighborhood Sites Distributions - We provide limited but free groceries to people via volunteers to sites in low-income neighborhoods every evening Monday through Friday, no questions asked. 3) Community Partners: We provide bulk food items to about 20 community-based organizations on a weekly or bi-weekly basis for churches, homeless shelters, and other groups serving at-risk residents to provide to their clients food. 4) Power Pack Program (P3): We provide weekend food for elementary school children in Fairfax Public Schools, primarily children in the free and reduced-price meals program, and others referred by school counselors, to make sure kids don't go hungry on weekends.

Chicago Tiny House, Inc. exists to create tiny house communities throughout Chicago that will provide homeless Chicagoans with safe, cost-effective housing and integrated supportive services. We have been helping the homeless of Chicago for over 30 years collectively. Specifically working with the Uptown Tent City over the last two years. Tent City housed an estimated population of 70 people. Who all lived under the bridges of Wilson and Lawrence Avenues at Lake Shore Drive. Our cause does not stop with the elimination of this community. We are completely volunteer-powered by bringing together concerned citizens, advocates, lawmakers, and donors. So, we can bring shelter, food, and supportive services to our most vulnerable neighbors, greatly reducing homelessness. While helping them move forward with dignity. Chicago Tiny House has partnered with, and is in touch with, both sides of the housing problem. We are knowledgeable about, and actually live alongside, our target demographic. We have created a growing database of followers, developers, donors, contractors, government agencies, and laborers. So, we bring a unique perspective and experience to this process. We are committed Chicagoans with small-business acumen as well as having a boots-on-the-ground relationship with our local homeless population. Our hope is to propose, implement, and operate Chicago’s first Tiny House Community. We can’t do it alone. Mission Trails Regional Park Foundation
The MTRP Foundation is a support entity for Mission Trails Regional Park. The park is only 12 miles from downtown San Diego and is owned and operated by the City of San Diego Park and Recreation Department's Open Space Division. It encompasses nearly 7,000 acres of both natural and developed recreational areas. We support a variety of activities in the nearly 15,000 square foot state-of-the art Visitor Center including: maintaining, improving and developing new exhibits, developing and printing the The park has 60 miles of trails for hiking, and mountain biking, rock climbing, fishing and a 46 site campground. Its rugged hills, valleys and open areas represent a San Diego prior to the landing of Cabrillo in San Diego Bay in 1542. MTRP provides a quick, natural escape from the urban hustle and bustle. MTRP has been called the third Jewel in the City of San Diego Park System. Along with Balboa Park and Mission Bay Park, it provides San Diego residents and visitors a way to explore the cultural, historical, and recreational aspects of San Diego. Started in 1974, Mission Trails Regional Park has become one of the largest urban parks in the United States. Originally used by the Kumeyaay, the park is the site of the Old Mission Dam, built to store water for the Mission San Diego de Alcala. The MTRP Foundation is a support entity for Mission Trails Regional Park which is owned and operated by the City of San Diego's Park and Recreation Department's Open Space Division.

Watertown Food Pantry
PROGRAM: We provide needy households with basic food items. As the number of adults and children in the household increases, the number of food items increases. The amount of meat a family receives also increases. In addition to these basic food items, we have a ‘free’ wall of miscellaneous food items. Families may take anywhere from 4 to 8 items; and these items are over and beyond their normal allotment. When we have LOTS of food in stock, we are even more generous in food distribution. It’s better to have it distributed to those in need than throw it away because it is past the expiration date. We give each family a “Milk Voucher” for Piggly Wiggly, which is good for one free gallon of milk. The amount we pay each month has substantially decreased due to the fundraising efforts at our local Piggly Wiggly store. In the waiting room, there is a corner cabinet stocked with donated books for children of all ages. Each child may pick out and take home one book each time they come to the pantry. These books come from a variety of sources........rummage sales, library book sales, fundraising events, just to name a few.
