The organization uses real-world experiences to illustrate the heartache and loss associated with the gang lifestyle, with the goal of steering youth towards more positive paths. Phase Two of Life also emphasizes the importance of real-world education, including financial literacy and learning a trade, to instill pride and empower youth to make positive choices for their future.

Hands on Peru has created a pioneering center called CESAPU - Public Health Center, with a pioneering model of community programs, with which it improves the conditioning factors of health (determinants of health), hand in hand with the same community.
