Hands on Peru has created a pioneering center called CESAPU - Public Health Center, with a pioneering model of community programs, with which it improves the conditioning factors of health (determinants of health), hand in hand with the same community. The most successful program is MADRE CESAPU. Which provides technical, economic and personal empowerment. We work to help educate patients and their families about how to have maximum bodily privacy for procedures; how to stand up for their rights requesting a same-sex medical team for intimate procedures; and how to prevent sexual abuse by medical professionals. We also work to educate medical professionals on how to be more sensitive to patient modesty.
