Animal Shelters

Animal shelters play a critical role in promoting animal welfare and providing care for animals in need. According to the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals, approximately 6.3 million companion animals enter animal shelters in the United States each year, and about 1.5 million of these animals are euthanized. However, there are many organizations and groups working to promote adoption, reduce euthanasia rates, and improve the conditions of animal shelters, such as the Humane Society of the United States and the ASPCA.
